Medellín.-At Celsia’s Shareholders’ Meeting, the problem of gas supply and the tightness faced by buyers, especially in thermal projects, such as Tesorito, in Córdoba, was discussed.
With the operation of Tesorito in San Antonio in Sahagún, Córdoba, it is expected to support the energy equivalent to the consumption of approximately 950,000 homes.
However, as it is a thermal project, gas is essential for its operation. In this respect, the president of Celsia said that they are currently closing «the little gas problem».
Sierra explained that with more gas exploration, and with more supply, energy prices in times like El Niño will not rise as much, but as there is no gas, they are facing a shortage for this fuel.
He pointed out and reiterated that more auctions are needed for thermoelectric projects in the country.
It must be said that Tesorito’s generation source is gas. It is expected to operate for an estimated 25 years, and had an investment of US$190 million, with Proeléctrica and Canacol.
