Bogotá. - With the advances in technology and the Internet, not only has society, businessmen and top executives in Colombia modernized, but also criminals and thieves.

And one of the scams that is growing in the country has to do with SIM cards, a component that is built into today's cell phones and that helps businessmen and senior executives to store thousands of data and personal information.

Specifically, scammers use methods such as SIM Swapping or Phishing to deceive businessmen and obtain a security code that allows them to access the cell phone network.

In such a way, cybercriminals are able to access business owners' personal information, which has been stored on their devices, easily by stealing their data.

The goal of cyber criminals is not only to obtain personal information such as login credentials, credit card numbers but also to hijack the user's WhatsApp account.

This phenomenon creates concern among users due to its ability to compromise the security and privacy of personal information on smartphones.

Despite the fact that WhatsApp's parent company (Meta) has been alerted on several occasions of the different forms of 'hacking', the company makes life easier for the hijackers of its users' accounts.
