Bogotá. –The Energy and Gas Regulation Commission (Creg) clarified this Tuesday that the draft resolution Creg 701028, has not been filed by the entity, since it is undergoing different stages of analysis including the referral of the regulatory project to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.
At present, the Commission is evaluating the comments made by market agents and citizens.
Simultaneously with this regulatory project, Resolution Creg 101 036 of 2024 was issued, which encouraged the contracting of commercialization companies with certain conditions, within which maximum prices were established to prevent demand from being exposed to the stock exchange mechanism and thus achieve a more efficient tariff for users.
Currently, Creg is in the process of evaluating the results of the measure of Creg resolution 101 036 of 2024, in order to complement the regulatory project Creg 701 028 of 2023.
Creg has the legal mandate to prevent eventual abuses of dominant positions in the short-term market, the purpose of which is to avoid passing on inefficient costs to users.
The critical hydrological conditions derived from the occurrence of the El Niño Phenomenon, maintain a tight supply to meet the national demand and, therefore, require Creg to permanently monitor the evolution of reserves, flows and prices of the exchange.
