Bogotá.- The head of emerging markets at Standard & Poor’s, Elijah Oliveros, referred on Tuesday to the time frame for Colombia to recover its investment grade, after losing it in 2021.

According to Oliveros, the average time for a country to regain this status is around seven years and, in the case of Colombia, he assured that the agency is handling the issue with caution.

«We have the rating at BB+ with a stable outlook. It fits perfectly where Colombia is at the moment. In order to generate upward pressure on the rating we have to see where the weaknesses are.
