Bogotá.-Olmedo López Martínez, director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (Unidad Nacional para la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres) will have to answer for the purchase of 60 tank trucks for La Guajira.

The entity was able to establish that 60 tank trucks for La Guajira were purchased by «finger».

The Comptroller’s Office heard Olmedo López Martínez, director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, this Tuesday in an open version and explained that delegating his functions to the former General Deputy Director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (Ungrd), Víctor Meza, who was recently dismissed, does not exempt him from being fiscally responsible.

The acting deputy comptroller of the Comptroller General’s Office, Carlos Mario Zuluaga, said that all roads lead to the conclusion that there was irregularity in the contracting of these tanker trucks.

«The number of tanker trucks has increased, there are no longer 40, but 60, we have verified this on site and with the complaints that have been made about the purchase and the values used», said Zuluaga.

The Attorney General’s Office has already opened a disciplinary investigation against the director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, Olmedo López Martínez, for alleged irregularities in the purchase of water supply tanker trucks in La Guajira.

The entities seek to establish if there were irregularities in the pre-contractual and execution stages, which would be related to the purchase of water tanks for the supply of water in La Guajira.
