Bogotá.-A group of shareholders presented before the Ordinary General Assembly of Ecopetrol S.A., which is being held at this time, that a criminal action be immediately initiated before the Attorney General’s Office against the members of the Board of Directors of the state-owned oil company at the time of the collapse of Bioenergy, for the alleged crimes of unfair administration, embezzlement and procedural fraud.

The action, in defense of the public patrimony affected in more than one billion pesos, is signed by jurist Óscar González Arana.

Bioenergy SAS and Bioenergy Zona Franca SAS were declared non-viable and consequently were submitted to the insolvency regime to be liquidated immediately, «so that Ecopetrol SA, without a trial formula, considered as lost all the millionaire resources invested in the two companies».

In other words, says the lawsuit: The Board of Directors of Ecopetrol SA and other senior executives decided to give away the two companies that years before they had created by investing very high financial resources, calculated by the Comptroller General of the Republic in more than $920,646 million.

Thirteen days after taking office, with memorial 2020-01-327416 dated July 8, 2020, the appointed liquidator requested the continuation of the development of the corporate purpose of the two liquidated companies that Ecopetrol had already given away. In simple words, he requested that the companies in liquidation continue operating as if they had not been liquidated, as if they had not been liquidated.
